Rose is the first companion from the New-Who series, and she’s quickly become rather iconic in the sci-fi world.
At only nineteen and with ‘no A-Levels, no job, no future’, she has a chance to escape and see more of the world.
Then when Nine regenerated into Ten, she quickly fell back in love with him.
Not only is she a fun character, but Rose has some really cool outfits on the show, and two of my favourites are from season 1 - ‘The Empty Child/ The Doctor Dances’ and ‘Bad Wolf/ Parting of the Ways’.
They’re pretty easy to replicate as well!
The Empty Child & The Doctor Dances
- Black jacket
- Union Jack shirt – you can find these on eBay or (if you’re a crafty kinda person) you can use fabric paint on a plain white shirt Tips on how to do this can be found in The Vault Forum.
- Blue jeans
- White trainers
Bad Wolf & The Parting Of Ways
- Red hoodie
- Plain white shirt
- Black jeans
- White trainers

The Idiots Lantern
The other outfit that I really admire is her Fifties look from the season 2 episode ‘The Idiot’s Lantern’. I remember watching that episode for the first time and wanting to wear that SO. BAD. Like, I wanted to jump through the screen and nick it from under her nose! But I finally achieved that dream, and I’m gonna show you how to do it!
Pink headband/ thick hair ribbon (I recommend it being at lead an inch or an inch-and-a-half thick)
A knee-length pink dress OR a pink top and a knee-length pink skirt (if you can’t find the dress
Steely-blue jacket (you could even get away with using a darker blue denim jacket
Pink flower-pin (I’ll show you how to make one with felt and a safety pin!)
An underskirt (this will make the skirt a little more poofy looking!
Grey/black sheer tights
Pale Pink kitten heels
